A "significant amount" of documents relating to a proposed Orange greyhound track are yet to be finalised as lobbyists behind the project seek an extension.
In September the CWD revealed the proposed $15 million facility planned for the now-abandoned Highlands Paceway off Bathurst Road was at serious risk of not going ahead.
This was because the Greyhound Breeders Owners & Trainers Association (GBOTA) - who officially bought the land from Orange City Council in early 2024 - were yet to submit a development application.
GBOTA CEO Dan Weizman confirmed the lobby group would be unable to lodge the DA prior to the October 25 deadline, at which point the contract could be voided and the land handed back to Orange council.
