A man who hid a large knife in his take-home shopping bag is being sought after he allegedly tried to rob a Framingham supermarket with the weapon, Framingham police said.
The incident took place Monday around 8:45 a.m. at the Dubom Supermarket located at 855 Worcester Road, police said in a post on Facebook.
“The suspect had a large kitchen knife concealed in a Burlington Coat Factory bag, and was wearing a ‘Puma’ sweatshirt and ‘Kohler’ beanie hat with holes to cover his face,” police wrote.
During his interaction with the cashier, the man spoke in Brazilian Portuguese, police wrote.
A store employee told WHDH-TV that the man left the store without any money.
The hat he was wearing was recovered in a nearby dumpster, police said.
