HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) -- A single engine plane was found crashed in Orange County with the pilot still alive.

According to Indiana State Police, they received a call at 10 p.m. on Saturday from the Louisville Airport and FAA about a possible downed aircraft near the Orange County/Lawrence County line. Police say the crash involved a Lancair fixed-wing, single engine aircraft.

Police say multiple first responders searched throughout the night in the heavily wooded area before finding the plane at 4 a.m. near Orange County near Old Vincennes Road. The pilot was located inside the plane.

The pilot was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
