Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on Sunday (October 5, 2025) expressed satisfaction over the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, claiming that the exercise “purified” the voters’ list after a gap of 22 years.

The CEC was addressing a press conference in Patna after concluding the two-day visit of the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) to Bihar, where it held discussions with various stakeholders over preparations for the upcoming Bihar Assembly election.

Mr. Kumar, who was accompanied by Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi and Bihar Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vinod Singh Gunjiyal, asserted that the SIR in Bihar was a complete success.
