Patna ( Bihar ) [India], October 6 (ANI): Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar clarified that, as per Supreme Court orders and the Aadhaar Act, an Aadhaar card cannot be considered proof of date of birth, residence, or citizenship.
Speaking on the use of Aadhaar in voter enumeration, Kumar emphasised that providing an Aadhaar number is optional under both the Aadhaar Act and the Representation of the People Act, 1950.
