SALT LAKE CITY — Two people were hospitalized after a small plane crashed in Uinta County, Wyoming, on Saturday afternoon.

The Uinta County Sheriff’s Office said that emergency dispatch received reports of the crash just after 5:30 p.m. A 911 call reportedly came from one of the passengers on board the plane.

“ Uinta County Deputies responded to the area of Medicine Butte, near Uinta County Road 108. The wreckage was located about 1.5 miles northeast of the summit of Medicine Butte,” the sheriff’s office said.

Emergency crews reportedly found two passengers inside the plane, and Uinta County Fire and EMS provided first aid. They were then taken to a hospital in Evanston by ambulance, and the sheriff’s office said they were “alert and responsive.”
