ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque police have arrested someone in connection with an arson investigation. Saturday night, APD located and arrested 49-year-old Nathan Castillo.

He's accused of setting fire to the Marshall's Department store located in northeast Albuquerque on September 18. It's not the first time he's been in trouble with the law.

Two years ago, Castillo was arrested for going into a Walgreens, stealing $4,200 worth of booze with a group of people, then attempting to flee. In November of 2023, Castillo pleaded guilty to shoplifting, and as part of his plea deal, his criminal damage to property was dropped.

He was sentenced to 18 months of probation. Castillo is now booked at MDC, facing an arson charge.
