NEW ORLEANS —
The Fried Chicken Festival served as a poignant tribute to New Orleans Chef Carl Morgan, who was carjacked and killed earlier this week while picking up his toddler from daycare.
Brennan's Restaurant, where Morgan worked, raised money at the festival for his family at their booth. Advertisement
"I'm trying to have a great time and remember Carl for who he was." Despite the loss, Brennan's employees continue to serve festival-goers, honoring Morgan's memory. "We wish he was here, he would love this," said Brennan's Chef Kris Padillino.
Morgan's presence is felt at the booth, where his face is prominently displayed.
Padillino noted Morgan's dedication to the festival preparations, saying, "He's been talking about it for weeks now, just getting all of his prep together sup
