A juvenile was shot and killed Sunday in Greenbelt, Maryland, in the second homicide there this weekend.
The victim in Sunday’s killing was found about 1:45 p.m. after gunshots were reported near Breezewood Court and Cherrywood Terrace, Greenbelt police said.
A group of people were at the intersection when a car drove up at high speed and shots were fired from inside. The victim was struck, and the car drove off, police said.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he died.
A Greenbelt police spokesman had no information on his name or exact age. People under 18 are typically described by law enforcement as juveniles.
No motive was known in the shooting. Greenbelt is a city in northern Prince George’s County and has its own police department.
