Lawyers for most of the victims of alleged sexual and physical abuse at the former Youth Development Center (YDC) in Manchester charge Attorney General John Formella pressured their clients to settle with the state and used new powers to veto 20% of agreements that former Administrator John Broderick had approved from July 1 until he stepped down three weeks later.
David Vicinanzo and Rus Rilee have further asked Superior Court Judge Daniel St. Hilaire to declare whether he sought a Supreme Court judgeship.
If St. Hilaire did, they claim it would create the appearance of, if not an actual conflict of interest as he presided over the ongoing lawsuit that challenges the state budget sections which turned Broderick’s job into a politically-appointed one and gave the AG authority to ca
