TORONTO — Statistically, Giancarlo Stanton has been a nonfactor over the Yankees ’ first four playoff games.

Stanton is 1-for-15 entering play on Sunday. He’s only struck out three times in that span, but two have been in huge spots with the bases loaded.

There was Stanton’s strikeout against Red Sox closer Aroldis Chapman in Game 1 of the Wild Card Series. The Yankees ended up stranding the tying and winning runs on base later in that inning. He then punched out against Blue Jays reliever Louis Varland to end the sixth inning of Saturday’s Division Series opener, the Yankees’ last chance to score before Toronto blew the game wide open.

It’s not like Stanton hasn’t been hitting the ball hard or having good at-bats, though.
