POCATELLO, Idaho — The Montana football team climbed out of a season-high-tying 13-point deficit and made a late defensive stand to rally for a 42-38 win over Idaho State on Saturday at ICCU Dome.
The fourth-ranked Griz remained undefeated as they improved to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the Big Sky Conference in their first road game of the season. Idaho State dropped to 2-4 overall and 1-1 in league play.
Michael Wortham's 9-yard touchdown run put the Griz up 42-38 with 3:06 left as they took their first lead since 18-17. The score came one play after he had a 33-yard completion to quarterback Keali'i Ah Yat, who threw for a career-high 350 yards on 23-of-40 passing with one touchdown and one interception.
