HANALEI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Ocean Safety Bureau officials advise no swimming on north-facing shores of Kauai due to hazardous ocean conditions.
This advisory is for all beaches beginning with Hanalei, going westward.
As a safety precaution, OSB officials have posted warning signs and are monitoring the area.
A High Surf Advisory is in effect through 6:00 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, for north- and west-facing shores of Kauai and Ni‘ihau, according to the National Weather Service.
Surf up to 12 to 16 feet along north-facing shores are forecasted and up to 8 to 12 feet along west-facing shores.
