SAN ANTONIO — A teen wanted in connection to the capital murder of a 14-year-old boy has turned himself in, according to law enforcement and the victim's family.

Authorities say 18-year-old Andrew Cantu turned himself in early Sunday morning. This comes after police had released a picture of him in late September , saying he was wanted for the capital murder of Simon Cuevas. This is according to law enforcement and Simon's family.

Simon Cuevas' mother is keeping his story alive as she prays for justice in her son's murder.

The 14-year-old was brutally murdered when he was beaten and shot as he walked home from school on April 16, 2025.
