It looks like the Las Vegas Aces aren’t going to let the Phoenix Mercury breathe on the court. Despite a tight first half that saw five lead changes, the Aces went up by nine and outscored the Mercury 30-24 to seize control. Now, they’re 2-1 in the best-of-seven Finals series of the 2025 playoffs. But this isn’t the biggest scare for the fans.
Ever since Satou Sabally suffered an ankle injury in Game 2 of the playoffs, all eyes have been on her. She reportedly had her ankle stepped on, but showing her grit, she stayed in the game long enough to knock down her free throws before being taken out. The head coach later confirmed that he pulled the starters to avoid aggravating any injuries.
“We didn’t want to risk anything further,” Tibbetts said postgame, hinting at precaution over panic.
