Jaipur witnessed a tragic incident late Sunday night when a fire broke out in the ICU of the Trauma Centre at Sawai Mansingh (SMS) Hospital. Seven patients, including three women, lost their lives, while others were rescued amid chaos and panic.

Fire breaks out in Neuro ICU storeroom

The fire reportedly started around 11:20 PM in the storeroom of the Neuro ICU ward of the Trauma Centre. The storeroom housed paper, ICU equipment, and blood sampler tubes. The nodal officer and senior doctor of the trauma center suspect a short circuit as the cause of the fire. At the time of the incident, 11 patients were admitted to the affected ICU, and 13 patients were present in the adjacent ICU.
