HORSESHOE BEND, Idaho — A Washington state woman was airlifted to a hospital Sunday after her vehicle rolled over and caught fire on State Highway 55 near Horseshoe Bend.
According to the Idaho State Police, the crash happened on Oct. 5 around 3:35 p.m. at mile marker 65 in Boise County.
A 32-year-old woman from Renton, Washington, was driving a Toyota RAV4 headed south when the SUV left the roadway, rolled and burst into flames, police said.
The driver was transported by air ambulance to a local hospital. Her condition was not immediately available.
Both lanes of the highway were closed for nearly three hours before reopening.
Idaho State Police is investigating the crash. The Boise County Sheriff's Office, Horseshoe Bend EMS, Acute Rescue and Life Flight assisted at the scene.
