Senior Congress leader Manish Tewari on Sunday said it was “unfortunate” that the ruling party used the scourge of terrorism sponsored by the neighbouring nation for partisan political purposes and to score brownie points.His remark comes a day after the BJP attacked the erstwhile UPA regime for its “non-action” against Pakistan after the Mumbai terror attacks and blamed it for succumbing to “foreign interference” (particularly US pressure).

Targetting former Home Minister P Chidambaram and Tewari, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia on Saturday said Chidambaram, who was the then Union Home Minister, had said in the interview that the entire world had descended on New Delhi to stop it from taking any action against Pakistan in retaliation against the terror strike.
