New Mexico's film industry is seeing more interest driven by the state's tax incentive program, according to the New Mexico Film Office.
TV series and movies such as "Ransom Canyon," "Breaking Bad," and "Oppenheimer" have all been filmed in New Mexico, showcasing the state's appeal to filmmakers.
This week, Las Cruces broke ground on Arrowhead Studios, a new $15 million film studio, which will be on the New Mexico State University campus. Ross Marks, the creative director for the Media Institute at NMSU, said the project is expected to be done in ten months. Marks added, a major production company is expected to sign a 10-year lease with the studio.
