The Salvation Army Weirton Corps held its Volunteer Day Sept. 27. Those who contributed their time to help the nonprofit in sorting a backlog of donated clothing worked tirelessly throughout the day, officials noted. The event resulted in 32 bales of clothing being sorted, which will translate to generating funds for community programs. Officials thanked all of the volunteers for helping, including students from the Weirton Rotary Club, the Kiwanis Club of Weirton, Weir High School’s Key Club and the Salvation Army Weirton Advisory board, who supported the much-needed efforts to clear donations to allow the thrift store to reorganize during the busy months ahead.
