A Passaic County man died early Sunday when his car crashed into two other vehicles while driving the wrong way on Interstate 80 in Bergen County, the New Jersey State Police said.

Steven P. Barrera-Fiallos was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-80 at milepost 61.3 in Elmwood Park at about 5:30 a.m. when he struck the front of a westbound vehicle, causing his vehicle to spin and strike a second vehicle, police said.

Barrera-Fiallos, 29, of Prospect Park, died of his injuries. The drivers of the other vehicles suffered non life-threatening injuries and were taken to local hospitals.

The crash remained under investigation later Sunday, police said.
