Patna metro launch: Bihar on Monday received a big gift as the capital city Patna witnessed the grand inauguration of the first phase of its maiden metro service, which also happens to be the state’s first ever metro train service. The inauguration comes right before the announcement of assembly elections in Bihar. The Election Commission of India (ECI) will announce the dates for the polls on Monday (October 6).

The Patna Metro services will officially open to the public on Tuesday (October 7), making it the first ever metro to run in the state of Bihar. CM Nitish has launched the first stretch of the Blue line (also called priority corridor) between ISBT (Patliputra Bus Terminal) and Bhootnath, which covers a distance of 3.6 km.

The stretch has three stations:
