AKRON, Ohio — Police in Akron are investigating after a 37-year-old man was killed in a weekend stabbing .

It was around 3:45 a.m. Sunday when Akron police and EMS responded to a residence in the 300 block of Patterson Avenue for a physical altercation, according to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office.

When officers arrived at the scene, police say they found the victim had been stabbed in the neck.

He was taken to an Akron hospital, where the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office says he was later pronounced dead at 4:19 a.m.

The victim has been identified as Kunal Yonghang of Akron.

Akron police say witnesses identified the suspect as 34-year-old Buddhi Tamang, who remained on scene. He was detained and taken to the Detective Bureau for questioning.
