The Met Office and BBC Weather teams have spoken out amid reports the UK could face snowfall in October. Early projections for the tenth month of the year show snowfall hitting parts of Scotland on October 17, October 18 and October 19.

There are even reports the snow could return a few days later. Depths of 5cm are shown as hitting Scotland - from Invernessshire to Perth, Kinross and beyond - in the latter stages of October, with 10cm per hour likely to fall.

But now rival forecasters have discussed the estimations, which were projected by WX Charts, which uses Met Desk data and advanced modelling to show a variety of outcomes.
