VERNON, CT (WFSB) - A suspect with a knife stole a vehicle from a victim in Vernon, police said.

It happened on Sunday on Vernon Avenue.

Vernon police said the suspect stole a Hyundai Kona while the victim was outside.

The suspect later struck an East Hartford police cruiser with the Kona, Vernon police said. The vehicle was eventually recovered in Manchester.

Police said the investigation continued on Monday morning.

They are following up on leads.
