The iconic K&B Plaza office building in downtown New Orleans is for sale for the first time in a half century.
The commercial real estate company Corporate Realty, which is listing the seven-story property at 1055 St. Charles Avenue, announced last week it was back on the market with a listing price of $11.4 million.
K&B Plaza is best known as the longtime headquarters of the K&B drugstore chain, which debuted as Katz & Besthoff in New Orleans in 1905 and grew to nearly 200 locations across the south before being sold to Rite Aid in 1997. In 1973, a real estate firm led by Sidney Besthoff III, one of K&B's third-generation owners, bought the building and renamed it K&B Plaza.
