South Africa’s Tazmin Brits hit a historic century against New Zealand in the 2025 Women’s World Cup at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on Monday (October 6). The opener took only 86 balls to reach her three figures, hitting 15 boundaries and a huge six in the process.

It was her fifth ODI century in 2025, which is the most-ever in a calendar year for the women’s game. Indian opener Smriti Mandhana held the record previously, hitting four tons twice — in 2024 and 2025. It’s only October, and the World Cup is a long tournament, so fans can expect this mini-battle between two fabulous, in-form players to be one of the plotlines come the final phase.
