Opener Tazmin Brits scored a superb century, her fourth in the last five matches, complementing Nonkululeko Mlaba’s four-wicket haul as South Africa triumphed over reigning T20I champions New Zealand by six wickets in the Women’s ODI World Cup on Monday.

After being bowled out for just 69 in their tournament opener against England, South Africa delivered an impressive all-round performance. Their bowlers and fielders set the stage for a successful chase of 232 runs, which the top order completed in 40.5 overs.

South Africa’s bowlers, led by left-arm spinner Mlaba (4/40), bowled New Zealand out for 231 in 47.5 overs after the White Ferns chose to bat.
