U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala. has demanded action from Montgomery city leadership following this weekend’s mass shooting.
The incident left two people dead, and 12 others injured by gunshots, including five with life-threatening injuries.
Seven of the victims are under the age of 20 and the youngest victim is 16, said Montgomery Police Chief Jim Graboys in a Sunday press conference.
“I am deeply disturbed by what took place in Alabama’s capital city last night,” Tuberville said in a post to X.
“Crime has become too common in Montgomery, and this cannot continue. It’s past time for city leadership to take responsibility and put an end to this.”
“My prayers are with the victims and their families of last night’s horrific shooting,” the post concluded.
