Quarterback Jackson Arnold was the biggest question mark during Auburn football’s open week.

After being sacked 14 times in the last two weeks, Arnold ranks 14th out of 18 SEC quarterbacks with at least 50 drop backs, having an average depth of target of 6.3 yards per pass attempt.

Auburn coach Hugh Freeze talked about how he assessed the film with his signal caller during last week’s open week.

“He’s done an incredible job of taking care of the football. Truthfully, when we watch the film together, I would love for him to be a little freer, particularly with the playmakers we have,” Freeze said Monday afternoon. “There are times when I think he would be if we could hold up another half a second or a second, but you want him to take care of the football, first and foremost.”
