Students at Hampden Meadows School in Barrington had an unexpected day off on Monday, Oct. 6 after a water service interruption.
According to Bristol County Water Authority Executive Director Steve Coutu, a fire hydrant located near the intersection of New Meadow Road and Old Forge Road failed late Sunday night, knocking out water service to some residents and Hampden Meadows School. The district canceled classes for HMS for Monday.
Coutu said crews had repaired the broken hydrant and restored service to the area by around 9 a.m. on Monday.
