PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth High School varsity football team dominated on both sides of the ball in a lopsided 49-7 win over Barrington Friday night at home.
It was the second straight game the Patriots, under head coach Keith MacDonald, put that many points on the board. Portsmouth defeated Westerly by a score of 49-12 at home on Sept. 26.
Senior Joe Sanderson had a huge day, rushing for 218 yards on 10 carries, plus three touchdowns.
Senior quarterback Adam Conheeny added another 115 rushing yards and also threw for 78 yards.
Seniors Jack Sanderson and Nico Colantuono both had TD catches (the latter added a two-point conversion), while senior Luke Brandariz and junior Cam Dugan rushed for a touchdown apiece.
Jacob Labonte, a sophomore, made five out of six extra-point attempts.
