A man shot and killed a woman and then shot and fatally wounded himself in a Saturday morning double shooting in Seabrook, New Orleans Police said Monday.

Police responded to a shooting in the 7200 block of Cannonbury Drive in the New Orleans East neighborhood at around 7:35 a.m. Saturday. They found a 25-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman suffering from gunshot wounds in a grassy area inside the gated Georgetown Apartments complex.

They were both pronounced dead on scene, police said.

Investigators later determined the shooting was a murder-suicide. The man and the woman had not been identified by the Orleans Parish Coroner's Office as of Monday afternoon.

No other information about the shooting was immediately available.
