BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Southern University is closed Monday, Oct. 6, due to a power outage.

The university released this statement:

"Due to a power outage, Southern University and A&M College is closed for the remainder of today, Monday, Oct. 6. All classes and activities are canceled."

There is no word yet on when classes or activities will resume at the school.
