AITKIN, Minn. — Three people were injured Sunday, Oct. 5, after the plane they were in crashed near McGregor Airport in Aitkin County.

The Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at 4:26 p.m., approximately half a mile southeast of the McGregor Airport. According to the sheriff’s office, the plane, a Piper PA-28 140, lost power shortly after takeoff and was attempting to return to the McGregor Airport when it went down in a swampy area short of the runway.

One passenger was life-flighted for treatment, and the two others were taken by ground to Riverwood Hospital in Aitkin.

The three occupants of the plane were Kaden Brazinsky, 23, of Ham Lake; Wyatt Sherry, 22, of New Richmond; and Jocelyn Erlandson, 23, of Ham Lake. All three occupants are being treated for their injurie
