HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A woman was arrested early Sunday morning for allegedly driving under the influence on Interstate 84 in Hartford, resulting in a head-on collision.
Connecticut State Police (CSP) received a wrong-way driver notification around 1:56 a.m. on Sunday from technology on the Exit 46 on-ramp. They were able to confirm a silver sedan that appeared to be traveling the wrong way.
Troopers found two vehicles involved in a head-on collision with minor injuries on the on-ramp to Sisson Avenue upon arrival. After an on-scene investigation, police said the operator of the "at-fault vehicle" was identified as 41-year-old Desiree Garcia.
According to CSP, Garcia exhibited signs of intoxication and failed to perform a field sobriety test.
