ANN ARBOR – A reporter didn’t even complete his question about Michigan running back Justice Haynes before head coach Sherrone Moore interjected.
“Animal,” Moore said during his weekly Monday news conference. “He should be up for the Heisman. Start doing it.”
There’s still ample time left in the 2025 season, but Haynes has posted gaudy numbers through five games. He ranks third nationally in rushing yards per game (130.8) and fourth in rushing touchdowns (eight).
Saturday’s 24-10 win against Wisconsin might have been his best game yet given the competition. The Badgers entered with the top-ranked defense in the country allowing just 50 yards on the ground per game.
