PLYMOUTH, Wis. -- Nearly 400 animals were surrendered to law enforcement in Juneau County over the weekend in what Sheriff Andrew Zobal called a "significant case of animal neglect."
Juneau County Sheriff's deputies were called to a residence in Plymouth on Friday after reports of animals running at large. After arriving at the property, deputies found more significant issues leading to the arrest of two people on animal neglect charges.
In total, 393 animals were found on the property and voluntarily turned over to authorities. That included:
126 rabbits
35 goats
Five horses
136 chickens

The Juneau County Sheriff's Office is working with a dozen animal welfare groups and shelters to ensure the animals are properly cared for an eventually rehomed.
