A Hancock County School Board member was charged with solicitation of a minor following a Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) probe.

According to the TBI, special agents began investigating Jack Mullins, 74, in August at the request of 3rd Judicial District Attorney General Dan Armstrong. Investigators say Mullins approached a juvenile girl at a fitness center in Sneedville and tried to solicit her for sexual activity.

A Hancock County Grand Jury returned indictments on October 6, charging Mullins with two counts of solicitation of a minor and one count of official misconduct.

Mullins was booked into the Hancock County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
