Where the QB Room Stands
Will he or won't he? That is the biggest question during OU/Texas week surrounding John Mateer on whether he plays of not against the Longhorns. Fans may have to wait all the way up until kickoff for the answer, but the Oklahoma staff is promoting confidence in Michael Hawkins and his ability to lead the Sooners offense. What has changed in the last year?
Arbuckle’s Confidence in the Plan
Offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle says the standard won’t change if Michael Hawkins is QB1 against Texas.
“I believe in Michael Hawkins, and I have a lot of confidence in Mike,” Arbuckle said. “He’s earned that with his preparation and his work. Whether John’s available or not… I’ve got a lot of confidence in those guys. It’s the type of kid Mike is and the way he prepares.”
