COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCBD) -- The president of the South Carolina Association for Justice, the state’s leading trial lawyers’ organization, has spoken out following a weekend fire at a Lowcountry judge’s house that left three people hospitalized.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is investigating after firefighters responded to a fire at a home in a gated Edisto Beach neighborhood on Saturday morning, belonging to Circuit Court Judge Diane Goodstein and her husband, former Democratic state Senator Arnold Goodstein.
Authorities said three people were taken to the Medical University of South Carolina; one was airlifted and two others were taken by ambulance. The extent of their injuries is not known.
