FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (WILX) - Former Detroit Tiger Kirk Gibson has spent the last decade living with Parkinson’s disease, and now his foundation is helping others find a better quality of life.

The Kirk Gibson Center for Parkinson’s Wellness will officially open its doors on Monday with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 5:30. You can watch a livestream of the ribbon cutting ceremony on News 10 at 6:30 p.m.

The 30,000-square foot facility on Northwestern Highway in Farmington Hills will offer a wide range of programs aimed at helping those with Parkinson’s manage their symptoms and slow the progression of the disease.

That includes physical wellness programs like strength and cardio training, boxing, walking and cardio drumming classes. There will also be healing arts programs like yoga,
