A new home for nostalgia is officially open in downtown Victoria.
The non-profit National Toy Museum of Canada has reopened at 719 Yates St., sharing space with Cherry Bomb Toys, and will mark the occasion with a grand opening weekend Friday, Oct. 10 to Sunday, Oct. 12.
“We just opened our National Toy Museum of Canada. This is something that has been in the works for just about two years, so it has been a while, but we’ve been working on it,” said Candice Woodward, vice-president. “We’ve loaded a lot of nostalgia and history in this museum.”
Accessibility was a key driver behind the move after a previous, smaller mezzanine display proved hard to access.
“Finding another location that we could make larger and very accessible was very important to us,” Woodward said.
