TOWN OF POTSDAM, New York (WWNY) - A St. Lawrence County family is homeless after a fire on Monday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to Pleasant Valley Road in the town of Potsdam at around 2 p.m.
When they arrived on scene, the east end of the home was engulfed in flames.
Firefighters said they had the fire under control in about 20 minutes.
Those living there said two people were home at the time of the fire, and both made it out with no injuries.
State fire investigators were called in to pinpoint the cause of the blaze.
The owners believe it could have been touched off by a burn pile behind the house.
