CANTON, Ohio — Police have issued an arrest warrant for a woman they say left the scene of a crash that killed a pedestrian in Canton .
45-year-old Erica Wynn died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Tuscarawas Street West on Sept. 26, according to police.
Police have filed a warrant for 31-year-old Kalea Woody on a felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident.
In a press release, Canton Police Chief John Gabbard said officers responded to the 2400 block of Tuscarawas Street West around 2:22 p.m. Investigators say a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven eastbound struck Wynn, who was walking northbound across the street.
After the initial impact, police said Wynn was thrown into the westbound lane, where she was then struck by a 2018 Honda Civic.
Wynn was taken to a hospit
