Travelers at Hollywood Burbank Airport are encountering delays amid a staffing shortage.

The Federal Aviation Administration warned that delays of 30 to 45 minutes are possible due to a lack of air-traffic controllers.

"There have been increased staffing shortages across the system," an agency spokesperson said. "When that happens, the FAA slows traffic into some airports to ensure safe operations."

Gov. Gavin Newsom blamed President Donald Trump and his administration for the shortage, saying the incident was due to the federal government shutdown.

"Burbank Airport has ZERO air traffic controllers from 4:15pm to 10pm today because of YOUR government shutdown," he wrote on social media.
