AITKIN COUNTY, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Three people are lucky to be alive after the plane they were in crashed in Aitkin County on Sunday.

Around 4:30 Sunday afternoon, a small plane went down just southeast of the McGregor Airport after losing power. First responders and clean-up crews spend the day trying to clean up the wreckage work to clean up the aftermath.

On October 5, the Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a distressed passenger from the downed plane near the McGregor Airport.

Sheriff Daniel Guida says it was a “Very frantic 911 call from a woman who had been in a plane accident. Not really knowing she was in a plane, just made a 911 call saying we’ve been in a bad accident.”
