LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- MMR Group announced a $55.2 million investment to establish a new assembly facility in Lafayette Parish, creating nearly 200 new jobs with average salaries of $85,000.

The facility will expand production of electrical components used in fast-growing sectors such as data centers and semiconductors. The project is part of the Acadiana leg of Louisiana Economic Development's Driving Louisiana Opportunity tour, which aims to conduct a record 800 business retention and expansion visits this year.

"MMR, a Baton Rouge based company, longtime Louisiana company, is actually opening a new manufacturing facility here in Lafayette," said Susan B. Bourgeois, Secretary of Louisiana Economic Development.
