FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A South Valley family is celebrating three times the joy after welcoming triplets at a Fresno hospital last week.

Markelle and Ryan Parmer say they were completely shocked to learn they were expecting three babies— and even more grateful now that Noah, Elise, and Jeremiah have safely arrived.

“We are feeling honestly, really good, really blessed,” said Markelle, who carried the babies to 34 weeks before delivering via C-section on Oct 1.

The odds of having spontaneous triplets are rare— about 1 in 8,000 —and for the Parmer's, the surprise came early during a routine ultrasound.
