GATLINBURG, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Gatlinburg Police Department announced that they will be joining the waiting staff at the Texas Roadhouse in Pigeon Forge to help raise money for the Special Olympics.
The event will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 7 from 5 - 8 p.m.
“Gatlinburg Police officers will team up with the Pigeon Forge Police Department to join restaurant servers to wait and bus tables, engaging with guests to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics programs,” said the city of Gatlinburg in a press release.
Officers will share information about the Special Olympics and the role that law enforcement plays in supporting the athletes.
The event is also a fundraising competition between the Gatlinburg Police Department and the Pigeon Force Police Department.
